The Boat Center is an authorized Mercury Marine® dealership serving the Evans area. We are proud to carry a large selection of new and pre-owned inventory. History of The Boat Center
Jimmy Beasley, Sr. has always had a love of boats.
When he was a 10th grade student at Westside High School in Augusta, Georgia, back in the early ‘80's, he began working on boats at Martinez Marine, which was owned by Bob Hayes and Dale Duvall.
The rest, as they say, is history!
Jimmy was only 21 years old, when on October 1st 1989, he fulfilled his dream and bought The Boat Center. At that time, The Boat Center was located at 1763 Broad Street. Jimmy kept the business at that location for a year, before moving it to Evans, Georgia in 1990.
On April 21st, 2007 a dump truck ran through the front of the business. While this may have been a setback for some, Jimmy simply decided to rebuild.
And this is the current The Boat Center that's become the local landmark everyone knows today.
Jimmy prides himself on being a family owned and operated business that offers honest and fair service.
